Happy Children Are Healthy Children: First Citizens Play Park Initiative…
In our continued efforts to support the communities we serve, First Citizens partnered with the Trinidad and Tobago Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to construct two play parks in the HDC Housing Projects located at Awai Lands and Harpe Place, Belmont – Port of Spain.
The parks were officially opened on Wednesday, 13th March, 2019 by The Honourable Stuart Young, Minister of National Security, Minister of Communications, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister and MP for Port of Spain North/St. Ann’s West in the presence of The Honourable Maj. Gen. (Retd) Edmund Dillon, Minister of Housing and Urban Development and MP for Point Fortin, Mr. Newman George, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Trinidad and Tobago Housing Development Corporation and Ms. Karen Darbasie, Group CEO, First Citizens.
The Group is an advocate for projects that improve the overall health and wellness of those within our community, particularly our youth and this is the first of a series of similar type initiatives being undertaken. Play is essential to the development of children because it contributes to their cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being. It also offers an ideal opportunity for parents to engage fully with their children.
